Hi, I am Lesley Malgas - an Occupational Therapist and Director of OT-Vation
My Approach
I am an experienced Occupational Therapist with a strong background across both the NHS and private sectors. OT-vation was established to provide high-quality, responsive Occupational Therapy delivered in the environment where it makes the greatest difference, your home.
My approach combines clinical expertise with practical understanding. I work with individuals and families who want clear guidance, structured rehabilitation, and meaningful outcomes. Whether the goal is recovery, adaptation, or maintaining independence, support is always tailored, discreet, and outcome-focused.
Specialist Areas of Practice
I support adults and children living with a range of physical, neurological, and cognitive conditions, including:
Stroke rehabilitation
Multiple Sclerosis
Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia
Orthopaedic recovery, including joint replacements and fractures
Post-hospital rehabilitation
Frailty and fatigue management
Mental health and emotional wellbeing
Autism support for children
Each intervention plan is individually designed, with measurable goals and practical strategies that fit seamlessly into daily life.
A Home-Based, Client-Centred Service
Delivering therapy within the home allows for a level of precision and relevance that clinic-based work often cannot provide. We address real environments, real routines, and real priorities.
Assessments are thorough and structured. Recommendations are practical and clearly explained. Communication is professional and consistent.
Above all, the focus is on enabling safe, confident, and sustainable independence.
“Supporting Independence Where it Matters Most”
The OT-vation Commitment
Initial assessments typically completed within one week of referral
Comprehensive, evidence-based evaluation

Flexible, responsive follow-up
I understand the impact that reduced function can have on confidence and quality of life. My role is to provide clarity, direction, and practical solutions, so that you can move forward with confidence.
If you are seeking a personalised, professional Occupational Therapy service that prioritises independence and quality of life, I would welcome the opportunity to support you.
Client Reviews
“Improvement of function and quality of life”
“Carol’s mobility had significantly deteriorated in 2024 and early 2025, and she had several falls in our house. We decided in May to get some professional advice about making the house safer and contacted OT- Vation Occupational Therapy. Lesley Malgas discussed the issues by phone , visited us and prepared an action plan. All within a few days. He did this very professionally and listened carefully to understand our needs. He then managed the process of installing grab rails , hand rails and other equipment to make the stairs, shower room , toilets and bedrooom safer. He also worked with Carol to develop techniques for safely living in our large two storey house. Lesley has continued to work with Carol in weekly sessions to strengthen the muscles she needs to sit, stand and walk safely. The house modifications and physiotherapy have made a significant difference to Carol’s mobility and safety in the house and outside activities. Lesley has achieved this by being knowledgeable, professional, and “ firm but empathetic “ . We appreciate his work and strongly recommend him to anyone that needs help to improve their quality of life

— Former Customer— Former Customer“He went above and beyond his role”
I would like to express my sincere thanks and appreciation for the outstanding support provided by Lesley at OT-Vation.
From the very beginning, he took the time to fully understand my daily challenges and complex medical needs. Throughout the assessment, he recognised that my current home was an unsafe environment for me. He carefully considered the possibility of adaptations, but when it became clear that these were not viable, he advocated firmly that a new, safe property was necessary to meet my needs and to protect my wellbeing.
From that point onward, he went above and beyond his role. He guided me through complex procedures, communicated with the relevant housing teams, and ensured that the risks I faced were clearly documented and taken seriously. His professionalism, compassion, and determination made an overwhelming situation feel manageable.
He consistently treated me with dignity and respect, always taking the time to explain decisions and next steps. His commitment to ensuring that I was allocated a safe and suitable home has had a life-changing impact, giving me reassurance, safety, and hope for the future.
I am deeply grateful for everything he has done and for the unwavering support he has given me throughout this process. He is a credit to his profession, and I cannot recommend him highly enough
